There's water everywhere! That is what you will be thinking on your first visit to Northwest Ontario's Sunset Country.  Northern Ontario has over 450,000 freshwater lakes and as it happens there are approximately 100,000 of them located in Sunset Country. With that much water the opportunities to enjoy some great days on our lakes and rivers are a just a boat launch away!
Scuba divers have long come to the region to dive in our many clean, clear lakes as fascinating under as on the waves. In this lovely countryside your ultimate marine experience may be that of renting your own private houseboat. You will have a million-dollar view of our world-famous sunsets each night of the week. Some of the larger lakes are great for sailing and every year competitive sailors come to the Lake of the Woods to have fun competing in the Lake of the Woods International Sailing Regatta. It is the largest inland sailing competition in Canada outside of the Great Lakes district. Water skiing, recreational boating, and swimming on 'Caribbean style' beaches are available to entertain vacationers who have an itch to let loose in the waves of Sunset Country.
