Walleye are distributed in lakes across the region and some of the better known lakes include Red Lake, Lake St. Joseph, Lac Seul and Lake of the Woods. Some techniques used by anglers include jigging with live bait (the most successful method), trolling, or casting off rocky shoals and humps. Big walleye are often taken trolling at dusk. Use rapala type baits that dive 10-15 feet and troll slowly. This method has rewarded many an angler.
